Introducing Wiese Ventures

Venture Development
Since 1994

 Perspective. Insight. Impact.

Welcome to Wiese Ventures. We provide consulting and investment solutions for emerging businesses with bold ambitions.

With over 30 years of experience in venture development and international growth, Morten Wiese combines strategic foresight with hands-on execution. From ideation to execution – and beyond – we support startups and scale-ups with tailored advice, smart capital, and access to a powerful network of investors, industry leaders, and key resources.

Wiese Ventures operates at the intersection of innovation and growth, built on a truly global foundation. Our journey includes building a retail chain in Norway, distribution channels in the UK and Ireland, retail partnerships in Japan, a factory in China, a recycling facility in Spain, subsidiaries in Dubai and South Africa, and sales networks reaching Silicon Valley.

Our mission is simple: to help bold ideas grow – and win.

Experience

I started my first company, the mobile retail chain MobilPartner in 1994 with my friend and colleague, Knut Meek.  We sold the company to Telenor after five years of solid growth.

Since then, I have been CEO, chairman, co-founder, and corporate advisor for several ground-breaking, fast-growing, and successful companies. Start-ups and scale-ups like ETS/ABAX, OneCall, Boost Communications/Placewise, mYoutime, Mobitel, One2Touch, CityQ, and Pier X.

Many of these companies and projects have been acquired by major industry players, and they have been funded by well-known VCs and PE funds like Investinor, Televenture, and Norvestor.

In 2019, I shifted focus to ESG and became chairman, board member, and advisor for three eco-friendly and sustainably focused companies: Astrum Group, CityQ, and Move About Group (ticker MOV)—listed at Nasdaq First North in Stockholm. Today, I'm the Chairman and CEO of Chargerly, developing next-generation solutions for the EV charger market.

Venture Community

In 2016 I co-founded Pier X Venture Hub at Aker Brygge, together with Norwegian Property. We built a dedicated venture hub and ecosystem of private investors, VCs, scale-up companies, and national and international partners and advisors. Pier X's mission was to catapult new Norwegian technologies and industries onto the global scene. Today, Norwegian Property uses the premises as their headquarters.

Co-located with TV2

Pier X was co-located with the TV2 live studio, where politicians, business leaders, and influencers frequented the premises.

Oslo Tech Excursion

Oslo Tech Excursion was an annual event at Pier X shining a light on the exciting and emerging Norwegian tech ecosystem for key stakeholders from throughout the world.

Funding Strategies

Together with dedicated colleagues and partners, I have raised over NOK 500 Million to early-stage companies over the past two decades. Many of the companies have scaled to significant industry players in their sectors.

Business Planning & Corporate Strategy

Business planning comes easier with extensive strategic, tactical, and operational experience. I have worked on dozens of complex projects in the interface between technology and the market. As a result, I have developed a company building methodology based on broad expertise from many sectors.

M&A and Exit Strategies

Eight of the companies I have founded, co-founded, or advised have scaled to be acquired by major industry-, venture- and private equity players. Together, these companies are valued at over NOK 5 Billion today.

“Fall down seven times - Stand up eight”

I hold five National slalom waterski titles and found that business is like waterskiing - the most critical learnings come from the hard falls and the many failures. There is no straight path to success. This is well described in the Japanese proverb. “Nana korobi, ya oki”

"Fall down seven times. Stand up eight."
